The Atlantic monthly magazine published an article featuring a child abuse case that Steven Peskind, Mollie Peskind, and their co-counsel, Matthew Haiduk successfully defended in 2018. The case involved false claims of child abuse brought by DCFS and the Kane County State’s Attorney based upon a controversial report by a child abuse pediatrician at Lurie Children’s Hospital. The article, written by Stephanie Clifford, is entitled “When the Misdiagnosis is Child Abuse.” Ms. Clifford focuses on how child protective services and prosecutors rely too heavily on the often flawed opinions of child abuse pediatricians.
