Melissa Rister recently attended for the 3rd consecutive year, the Annual Conference of the Institute for Divorce Financial Analysts. This year’s conference took her to Denver, where she conferred with other divorce financial experts from all over the United States and Canada. Topics addressed included financial fraud investigations, using Family Law Software, the impact of divorce on college financial aid, and using Qualified domestic relations orders (QDROs) to divide retirement benefits.

Steven Peskind served on the faculty of the Family Law trial Advocacy Institute, which is presented annually in Boulder Colorado. The Institute, which is co-sponsored by the National Institute of Trial Advocacy (NITA) and the American Bar Association Family Law Section, is an intensive 8 day program teaching lawyers family law trial skills

The Trial Institute faculty includes the nation’s top family lawyers. It also includes law professors, trial judges, clinical psychologists and business evaluators.

In addition to daily classroom instruction, Mr. Peskind lectured on using stories to enhance trial presentations. He also was a co-presenter on using psychologists as expert witnesses and consultants. Finally Mr. Peskind presented a mock cross examination of a business evaluator.
