Sara L. Busche

Throughout Sara L. Busche’s career, she has focused her practice in divorce, child custody, and parentage litigation. Before practicing law, Sara was a social worker for Lutheran Social Services of Illinois. Her counseling experience assists her in employing a personal and common-sense approach to each case, providing emotional and empathetic support to her clients all while applying the legal expertise necessary to make the difficult and complex divorce or parentage process more manageable.

Sara’s 19+ years of practicing family law makes her a valuable asset both in the firm and in the courtroom. She is an experienced negotiator and trial lawyer. She is a graduate of the American Bar Association’s Family Law Trial Advocacy Institute and a graduate of the Mediation Skills Training for Collaborative Practitioners. What she has developed from the education of the programs and her years of legal experience are listening skills, focus, keeping cool, and being well prepared. She can identify the needs of a client quickly, she assume the role as an advocate to pursue a legal course of action, and then she executes.

Sara remains active with the American Bar Association where she serves on the Publications Development Board. Her writings include being the editor of Lexis’ book on Illinois Family Law. Sara is recognized as an Illinois Super Lawyer.

Sara graduated from Purdue University and The John Marshall Law School (now University of Illinois—Chicago School of Law).
